From start to finish: Bertagnolli selects quality pomace of grapes from the vineyards of Trentino, harvested fresh and moist for distillation; the pomace goes straight to the distillation in steam-fired discontinuous artisanal alembics, and then to the bottling of distinguished Grappa as well as distilled spirits from Trentino. Bertagnolli also produces Liqueurs.

Unchanged traditional values
Distinct origin. Bertagnolli selects quality pomace of grapes from the vineyards of Trentino in order to get high standard performances. The pomace is harvested fresh and moist for distillation and brought to the Distillery still rich of that must that ensures the distinctive characteristics to our product. Then the fermentation process starts, without the addition of any chemicals, for the subsequent distillation process, which is different depending on whether the grapes are white or red.
Certified quality. Istituto Tutela Grappa del Trentino, the official institute for the certification of origin and distinction of this product, brands Bertagnolli Grappa “TrentinoGrappa”. This confirms that Bertagnolli Grappa is the result of steady improvements in the distillation system, in order to reach only the best aromatic compounds and sensory characteristics of the distilled spirits. It also confirms that “TrentinoGrappa” is produced with pomace only coming from the region of Trentino with a perfect distilling process that has been verified from both chemical and organoleptic point of view and therefore being a natural and safe product.
Historically and internationally renowned excellence. Since 1870, Bertagnolli has received several international exclusive certifications and awards. In 1886, Distilleria Bertagnolli earned the title of the “Official Supplier of the Royal Habsburg Family”. It was then given the AEO status (Authorized Economic Operator), which is a Customs Agency Certificate of Reliability, by Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli, released following a customs audit. In addition, every year, Bertagnolli products receive countless quality awards (eg. “Gold Medal” at ISW Award - Internationaler Spirituosen Wettbewerb; “5 Grappoli, Evaluation of Excellence at Bibenda 2016 - the prestigious Italian Guide that every year pays tribute with its Wine & Spirits Awards to the products and companies that have achieved excellent results in the beverage world; “Gold Medal” at Spirit Awards by ANAG - National Association of Grappa Tasters, etc.)
Over 145 years of distilling with antique methods and innovation. The company has always been distilling with steam-fired discontinuous artisanal alembics fuelled by vapour, which were invented by the Bertagnolli family that introduced the “Tullio Zadra column” in 1949 to improve the selection and concentration of the alcohol. By using these traditional and artisanal system only a small quantity of grape pomace, about 500/600 kg, can be distilled at any one time. In this way, the raw material is valued and protected from possible burning, and what you get is a Grappa with remarkable aromatic compounds that have a soft and round taste.
